Medeswete Designs aims to inspire and bring beauty into daily life. Medeswete/ medesote is the middle English word for meadowsweet, a sweet-smelling wildflower. The middle English alludes to the historical influence in my work, while meadowsweet encapsulates the natural influence. Taking inspiration from nature, history and literature, Medeswete Designs celebrates traditional crafts and storytelling.
Emily is an emerging designer from Mourne, Northern Ireland. During her time at university, she learned techniques in ceramic and CAD design, but chose to specialise in metals, specifically jewellery. She enjoys taking inspiration from stories and exploring the narrative, a concept with which she is currently working. An intertwining and constant inspiration is nature and often history. Despite focusing on metals, she has a love of wool and wood, often choosing to incorporate them in her designs. In 2025 her work was exhibited at Ulster University’s Degree Show.
